它时常不能被辨认。

我试图找出

这些──

难言的清晨，抚过仙人掌的午后，这一天，另一天

驱赶过多的水

水面上的语言也要打捞、筛选。

向你献上被责任凝视的过程

你可以拒绝打开。即使词语的牙齿

在我手心反复咬噬，

从水里筛出的金色音节

必将属于你。

它们不一定组成悦耳之音

它们想让你听到的很微小、贫穷

就像你经过雪

却没有听到雪声。

一切的白

静静落在你身上。

你察觉

丰厚的心事变得干净。

向你献上新的冬天

十一月的某次

黎明。

A Dedication

Du Lülü

I offer you certain moments

often they are indistinguishable.

I try to draw out

these—

unspeakable mornings, afternoons running a hand over cactus, this day, another day

To drive off the excess water

the words on its surface must also be dredged up, sifted.

I offer you the process of being held in responsibility’s gaze.

You may refuse. Even as the teeth of words

gnaw again and again at my palm,

the golden syllables sifted from the water

shall belong to you.

The sound they form won’t necessarily be pleasant

What they wish you to hear is very small, poor—

as when you pass through snow

but hear no snowfall.

All that whiteness

settles silently upon you.

You notice

that wealth of worries has become clean.

I offer you a new winter.

杜绿绿

眼前的她是这样懦弱，

弯曲成半圆形，

像微微闪烁的星星

散发出犹豫。

一个柔软的、跳动的

逐渐暗去的

光体。

你可曾触摸过？

她比秋天的山林

还要干燥。

晨光照耀她的脊背

凸起的骨头刺着

这块皮肤。

细骨上有块凝滞的炭。

既不愿熄灭

也放弃了火。

她忍受着，

炭灰填进身体。

你可曾吻过

她的忍受？

Charcoal

Du Lülü

The woman before me is so frail,

curved into a half circle

like a faintly flickering star

radiating hesitation.

A soft, pulsing,

gradually dimming

body of light.

Have you ever touched her?

She is drier

than the autumn hills and forests.

Morning light falls across her spine

whose jutting bones press hard against

her skin.

On the fine bones a clot of charcoal.

Unwilling to be extinguished

yet having surrendered fire.

She endures,

ash filling into the body.

Have you ever kissed

her endurance?
